WATER QUALITY ADVISORY UPDATE

Manganese update for July 30, 2025.

Our team is working very hard to resolve this matter. Currently RWD has decreased the use of wells with high manganese. We are currently testing every day; testing shows that the levels of manganese in the water distributed throughout the lower zone has decreased below the Health Canada guideline levels. Once testing remains below these levels for a consecutive period of time, and is approved by Interior Health (IHA), the advisory can then be lifted, and the public will be informed. 

Additional information: Incidents like flushing, construction or firefighting can release manganese that has deposited in distribution lines. If you experience discolouration to your water, flush your taps on cold water for 5-10 minutes. If it does not clear, please contact our office.
