NOTICE OF FLUSHING TO UPPER & LOWER ZONES

We are continuing routine system flushing in the Upper and Lower Zone of the Rutland Waterwork District (RWD) starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26th, with work scheduled to continue through to mid-July. 

This essential maintenance program is part of RWD's ongoing commitment to deliver safe, high-quality drinking water. Flushing helps to remove sediment, maintain optimal water flow, and reliability of the entire distribution network. 

What our residents need to know: 

• Start Date: Monday, May 26th 
• End Date: Mid-July 
• Time: Daily beginning at 8:00 a.m.
• Location: RWD Upper and Lower Zone area 

During this period, residents may notice temporary changes in water pressure and water discolouration. These effects are normal and typically short lived.  

Recommendations during flushing: 

• If discolouration occurs, run your taps with cold water for a few minutes or until clear.
• Avoid using laundry machines or dishwashers during active flushing hours if water appears discoloured.

We appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation as this important maintenance work is carried out to protect the long-term quality of the water supply.
